TUL - TPUART USB light (ATMEGA version)

General

This module glues an TPUART EIB/KNX bus coupler to USB 2.0. The freely programmable microcontroller allows any kind of USB device favours.

Specs

  • TPUART connected to USART of:
  • ATmega32u4 @ 16MHz
  • USB A male connector (optional USB Mini B)
  • two LED
  • isolation: UL1577, 3750 VACRMS for 1 min.
  • dfu-bootloader - allows flashing firmware by using USB
  • optional: 2x10 pin 100mil feature connector (incl. ISP/JTAG/I2C/SPI)
  • optional: plastic case

Firmware

  • FT1.2 serial port BCU - this will make the TUL emulate FT1.2 serial interface
  • transparent TPUART - This will allow native access to TPUART providing an emulated serial port (CDC ACM) on host PC
    • use with: eibd -i -D -T -S -e 1.1.251 tpuarts:/dev/ttyACM0
  • Arduino-style-files - TUL is a "Arduino-Leonardo"-compatible device
    • you may compile files with Arduino-IDE and upload them manually as descibed below

How to flash this device:

  • locate the PROGRAM button at the back of the module
  • keep it pressed while plugging the module in
  • run:
dfu-programmer atmega32u4 erase --force
dfu-programmer atmega32u4 flash yourfirmware.hex
dfu-programmer atmega32u4 reset

    • optionally you may run: make dfu
